I never know what to write in these things, It's been years since I've even written a full 'story' on any site at all. For the sake of privacy I'm only going to go by my nickname, Yuu. So let me tell you a bit about myself: I'm a shoyru and I've recently moved to a small house in the countryside. Won't say where, but it's nice! It gets a bit lonely out here sometimes but I live.

The other day something odd happened, I noticed that I had one item on my wishlist on my Neoph (Note: I switch between the brand name Neoph and with just using the word phone consistently lol). I have no idea when I put it on my WL; it was a free game and from what I saw had no in-app purchases. So whatever, but it looked cute and interesting and I decided to download it.

I read the reviews while I downloaded it; Something about them seemed a little odd to me, the weird misspells and overly positive reviews. But there's plenty of things that could explain that, it's a small group of reviewers. I know they're real neopets because they had a lot of other reviews for similar games. So I brushed it off, but who knows, maybe yall think it's odd.
Tonight I decided it was time to finally start the game, The game had a load section. There was no other saves so I just made a new one. The game started with a soft tune behind it; it was calming and kind of boppy. The main character immediately spoke as an 'enter your name' screen popped up.

❝Nice to meet you, Yuu, I'm going to teach you the basics!❞ The character said, smiling brightly. They slowly brought me through the little
tutorial before a small story explaining the story of the little poogle started up.

In a small town next to Neopia Central...
Misrow
A young Grey Poogle sat quietly by the window.
They looked toward their neighbors;
Many of which were going about their day.
Laughing and smiling.
But something was wrong, they could feel it.
Confirmed when the ground started to shake,
A stagnant air filled the lungs of those around them,
Watching in horror as everyone around them... stopped being HAPPY.
They all became gloomy, enraged, different.
The Poogle had always been so caught up in their sadness,
they had failed to see the beauty in the happiness around them.
Now that it was gone - everything felt so wrong, so bad.
What had done this? What had caused the badness to plague the town?
They couldn't stand by and watch the town stay sad, or angry, or broken.
Their fur changed from a deep grey, to a beautiful, happy yellow!
They were Happy now - and they have a job to do!
I thought It was an interesting little story.

The game starts in the town from the story, it's an easy enough few levels, nothing to write home about. There's not much huge-plot details that matter for a while, just easy levels to get used to the game.

As I reach the end of the Misrow levels, there's foreshadowing that the things Happy does in the town is a temporary fix because SOMETHING much bigger then this is infecting more of Neopia with the 'sadness' that he wants to fix. The last bit of the Misrow levels leads up to a boss fight

The boss was a juppie monster, honestly I forgot that those existed. I wonder if they're still around... Anyways, instead of beating the monster to death the goal is to make it smile or be happy- obviously because that's the whole point of the game.

It's cute, I kind of thought there was no real reason for me to write about this game while I've been playing it; it's just a game. Sure it seemingly popped up out of no where but after the first levels I thought I was wasting my time talking about it. Maybe I put it on my WL at some point and just forgot about it, honestly it's happened before. But something kept itching at my brain. Something about this little game made me want to keep writing. But what is there to write about when nothing is even Happening in the game? Do I want to show it off and get it more attention?

I decided to keep playing. I've been playing the game for weeks at this point, It's easy enough to play while I'm waiting around town and it's keeping me busy when I am bored but don't want to do anything else at home. At some point I realized that maybe I should look it up on my computer, see if it's on other platforms or if the creator had a website. I even wanted to see if there was a little community held together by the reviewers in the store who seemed to love it.

I tried for a long while to find any sign of this game. I probably re-typed the name of the game and anything that could get it to show up anywhere else 1,000 times. But there was nothing, nada, zip. That's when it really started to feel off. So many good reviews, but not a single person has talked about it anywhere? No one has ever reviewed it on a game website or maybe a forum? NOTHING? Even stranger, it wasn't on the PC version of the game store. It only seems to be findable- on my Neoph. There was something strange that had been biting at me since I started playing... And this really dug that in.

I stayed up for hours after that, trying desperately to figure out anything. But no matter where I looked it just didn't work. But I wasn't going to give up, but I needed a new method. Honestly it took me too long to realize I could learn how to move the files from my Neoph onto my computer and search through them, but being nervous and not super... tech savvy. I had to do some research to make sure I didn't screw it up... So in the mean time, I played.

After that boss fight, it continued onto a map screen, showing bits of Neopia, the next level being the central.

I did go back to purchase some items though...

I started the new level, much like Misrow, it wasn't too different. Just the same mechanics with different things to happify. It was nearly identical besides being less tutorial heavy and with slightly 'stronger' saddies...

During one of the nights I was trying to figure out how moving files would be possible without messing the game up or something.

But I was interrupted- my phone chimed a little tune I'd never heard before, vibrating softly as a notification loudly alerted me. Usually I leave my phone on mute for notifications, so it honestly jumpscared me.

When I walked over it had given me a notif to keep playing Smile. It was jarring to then realize that I had suddenly decide to lie down on my bed and Play. I had no memory of it. But I did feel a warmth from the missing memories. Maybe it was my ADHD, maybe I was just tired and my memory slipped... But it felt strange, for a good moment I couldn't stop staring up at my phone screen...

A chill I've never felt fluttered through my bones. I had misplaced Three hours...

Three hours...

Maybe I overreacted a bit, I had decided to just stop playing due to that chilling idea that I missed an entire three hours- but maybe I had just been sleep deprived, nothing has happened in a few days. I went to the market today when I got another alert from the game, saying something about how I had missed several days. I decided to play my paranoia to the side and continue playing. Logically I probably spaced out while playing since I've been dealing with insomnia lately.

I was greeted by this when I pressed play

It kind of felt... soothing. I feel kind of like a clown for overreacting. I played more of the game while I traveled back home.

I managed to get to Kiko Lake, I wondered if they have a Kiko morphing potion design for Happy, so far I haven't found one, but I really want to see if they do. The kiko's are a mix of obstacles and saddy's, sometimes you can use their heads to hop up onto other parts of the level. That's kind of funny.

While playing I did end up finding a Kiko morph for this level, which temporarily allowed him to float instead of hop on peoples heads. Cute!

For a while I was playing outside on my stairs a lot, Not sure why, it's not like these concrete stairs were comfy. One day while playing I was approached by someone.

She was a tall pretty pink lutari, she was looking for her Puppyblew.

I offered to help look for it, which distracted me from my game.

She was a bit shy, but agreed to let me help. I didn't have a petpet, haven't for years, but if I had lost mine I'd hope that someone would help. We started looking for it together.

Luckily the petpet was found, we ended up finding it hanging out in a random mud puddle in the middle of an open field. We kept talking though, we ended up hanging out at her house for a bit afterwards. I'd made a new friend (finally) and it was neat. I don't want to take up all of this to talk about her only, but we ended up hanging out more and more afterwards, I'm talking a couple weeks. It really distracted me from the game, and also figuring out how the heck to put it on the computer to sniff through the files... I was just happy to make a new friend, I struggle with that stuff sometimes.

One day at her house she noticed me playing it while waiting for her, I decided I'd tell her, I even told her about how I couldn't find any information about it online.

We ended up spending most of the night talking about it, I explained that I wanted to look through the game files- but didn't really know how to do that. Just my luck, she told me she thinks she could figure it out for me.

It took a few days to get it completed, she wanted to make sure not to corrupt my game, but we finally got to a point where we could safely copy the files over so I could look through them and still play the game on my phone. She even mentioned I could continue my progress through an emulator, but to be honest, the thought of figuring out how emulation works is a bit too much for me. I think I'll stick to just my phone.

I'm excited to dig deeper into figuring out who made this game and the information on it.

Of course the first thing we tried to do was open the folder that was obviously locked. It didn't work.

Both of us were excited to dig, expecting a lot more than we got, honestly. The other folders were your basic save_data, only mine was there. There was also some artwork and a large folder that had tons of levels inside of it, weirdly enough some of the levels were also restricted access. My friend really wanted to try and find a way to hack into that first restricted area, since we found nothing about an original owner. It shouldn't just been in the normal data folder- but it wasn't. Nothing was pointing us too a creator. I also want to point out, how it is a bit odd that the game is called "Smile", but the game-file itself is labeled 'Happy'. Maybe it changed in production? It was also strange to me that the App page, now that I think about it... Had put the 'author' as 'HappyEXE'. When phones don't use exe files, and why would that be the creator? I wasn't sure what it meant, but it was strange.

Both of us were excited to dig, expecting a lot more than we She worked most of the night trying to hack into it and find ways around the block. I fell asleep at some point. She was confused because the regular hacks or admin tools just refused to work. Nothing was letting her in, she offered to come by whenever to try more. Which was no problem, we'd been spending a lot of time together anyways.

I continued playing, she continued to try and break into that folder... time passed for a while, nothing really happening. Sometimes we just hung out completely normally, but I'd always find myself playing in between waiting for her. Or when she wasn't there, it kept me busy. It made my house feel less. Empty. I got to brightvale, I was getting better and better. Everything was still fine, just a cute game with a mysterious unknown creator.

One night, she jokingly asked if she could try a level... I said yes, she'd watched me play sometimes, she knew the controls, she knew the main character. When my phone touched her hand, I felt a weird chill spin through my spine... I chalked it up to that feeling you get when you don't want someone to look through your phones gallery, I shook it off. She just wanted to play 1 level. And she did. It was going well.
I fell asleep, which is apparently a problem of mine that I've never really noticed.

She seemed nervous later when she told me how playing the level went, I hadn't seen any of it, but she told me she was on one of the Brightvale levels. She had happy-fied a few things and one of the lenny wizard saddy's.

In one of the castle towers there was a grey-droplet

She apparently hadn't timed it right-running into the droplet.
Oh No
You made Happy Sad
Why would Yuu do that? Yuu hasn't made them sad Once.
Maybe it's because Yuu isn't the one playing.
But how would I know.
If that's the case.
Please do not play for someone elses save.
If not, Maybe, Yuu needs to rest...
This sadness wont be marked down this time.
Don't want to ruin your perfect streak this early!
=)

When we reloaded the save, the droplet was gone. I don't really know what to say about this, I didn't see it but it shook her up a bit. I tried to help by saying maybe it was one of those things developers like to hide- a joke to call out you screwing up or something. But I don't think either of us really believed that... I think she's a bit mad that I don't entirely... Believe it was something to worry about? I don't know. I don't believe it was a malicious thing I guess, it's just a game, a weird game, but a game. After we relaxed she seemed okay though. I offered to let her make a different save but she wasn't interested. She said she'd rather keep to trying to hack into the files elsewhere.

So we went back to the norm.

Finally one night she had succesfully gotten into the restricted folder. We were greeted with 4 items. A restricted code based item and a locked folder named 'saves' There were only 2 items that were open-able.

One of them was some sort of stat info, but it wasn't the type you can decode without a computer due to the code-type. So it was just a bunch of random letters. From the 'stat' in the title she has decided it was most likely a code that kept a handle on "Happy's" stats.

The other one that is openable was the odd one though, it was an art program called "anipix." The program was one that had fallen out of use back in the early 2000's, not only is it outdated, but it's also very strange that it's hiding in the files of a video game. It featured different little animations that had been saved and exported for the game itself. + Concept sketches of various happy-morphs.

while talking about how weird it was, we also spoke about how the 'Saves' folder is inside of the restricted folder. Normally that would be in the 'contents' and 'data' folders from the previous files, but we hadn't found that there. The contents had various animations or info on the other maps of the game. Data had other code-related things and whatever. But no saves. My friend said she originally thought there must not be a 'saves' folder until multiple saves have been created, or that it simply was impossible to actually find the save folder by just looking for the word Saves. But now that we've found it, that just makes it a bit weirder. Maybe a way to stop people from editing their saves? But if they wanted that couldn't they just use the codes that make it near impossible to edit without something to crack the code? Neither of us are quite sure... But she does want to try and get into the saves, especially because it won't effect my actual game... and also the 'px' file. Neither of us are quite sure the px actually stands for though. She'll have to keep trying to break into ANOTHER folder. I wish I knew more about stuff like that so I could help more.

It's been raining a lot lately

I continue playing, my friend is at her home, we text back and forth during the game while she hacks. We were planning on hanging out today but the night was a bit too rainy, it's supposed to be a full on storm, so we had to post-pone our hangout. I'm sure her petpet is happy about the rain though. I do like the rain too... not the mud so much.

During the rain, my friend messaged me something. She said something
weird had happened at her home.

We played games after we talked about it for a while, but at some point the connection got pretty bad due to the storm so we went back to texting. She seemed fine the rest of the night.

When I went back to playing there was a new merchant that was introduced, Cute design too. Her name was AVA
AVA: Hello Happy! I've heard of your goal to spread cheer!
AVA: I've decided to offer some help!
AVA: If you give me happiness points instead of leveling up one of your moves
AVA: I can offer special items, and these items are exclusive to my t.v shop. They are also
AVA: permanent! So when you see my button, press!
AVA: Here are some of what I have to offer right now!
I have no idea what ant paste is. Is that a real thing?
I was super tempted to get the mystery box, but i went with the smile bag, mostly because I have a bad habit of hoarding every item I get and never using them because I'm scared I'll need to use them later. Maybe next time I'll get the mystery box. That's all I could afford at the moment, so I continued on with my journey.

Turns out you can't just waltz into the castle willy-nilly so we have to do something else

At some point My eyes were finally heavy, I didn't want to stop playing so I kept trying to stay awake. Needless to say I failed and my body fell asleep...
I had a. weird dream

It started off bad. Another nightmare, which is something I'm pretty used to. But the blurry dream was interrupted, It was suddenly so lucid. You know how dreams feel? Like your far away from Neopia? Well that's how it was for a while, just a dance of blurry memories and strangeness and vague memories of the dreamland... And then it was bright and clear. Happy was there to 'cheer me up'. He talked for a while, I don't remember what his voice sounded like. We took a calming walk... He said I'd be happy someday. I hope he's right.
It was weird, I don't know how to feel about it, but I feel kind of warm. In a good way? I dunno. It was just a dream afterall.
After I woke up more I told my friend I had a weird dream,
apparently she had too. She didn't really want to talk about it though.

After a week or so of rain we finally got a nice sunny day, even better was there was supposed to be a meteor shower, we decided to hang out at her place so we could see it. She told me she'd never seen the ocean before.

I had, nothing crazy in my opinion. Just a bunch of water... But she wanted to see it. I guess I understand why, Especially in places where the ocean is tropical and not just. Cold rocky nothing.

Maybe one day we can go together.

My friend managed to break in the 'gpgle.px' file, it appeared to be a saved set of possible-animation frames for 'Happy' as a grey poogle, weirdly enough, they were all scribbled on, the last two frames had a badly-done recolor of their mask. Weirdly enough, we also think that the frames were drawn in a different software to Anipix, Anipix only exports in st/gif/mp4 and older types of files. We're not sure what 'px' is from, it seems like it usually comes from even older softwares to Anipix. It was only used for a very small time for older animation and art softwares. It's a miracle that my computer can even open the file in the first place. But that didn't really last long.
While looking at the frames, the file suddenly crashed... and then seemingly deleted itself from the folder.

We were both pretty confused, had it messed itself up? Was the file-type so old and unstable that the computer corrupted it and removed it? We weren't sure, and decided to peak at my trash folder just in case.

But it wasn't in there either, which made some sense if it had just, died or something. She said that when she gets back home she'd try and see if she can take a further look at the software in her place, since she still had the duplicate files.

But it wasn't there either. It was completely gone, like it hadn't been there ever. She tried to find it anywhere, but no sign of it was present. It was... a bit strange, a little unnerving, that feeling I got when I had realized I missed three hours kind of came back... But I'm trying to shake it away.

So in the meantime I focused on playing the game to ignore any nerves I have. We had officially made it to Darigan Citadel, one of the 'smaller' levels. It's pretty easy and fun.

The main 'boss' this round was a Trio of Darigan pets who were enjoying the gloom that was messing with the lands, using it as an opprotunity to make hissi-oil fixes to the problem, they seemed to be more effected by the "Angry" saddies type of enemy. Pretty neat.

After finishing the mini-boss fight, I walked out to buy supplies before leaving. I was greeted by an orange blumaroo.

They gave Happy a specific quest in going to Roo island to save their friend who was there.
Blum: Can you Help?
Blum: I'm worried about my friend in Roo Island.
Blum: I'd be so grateful if you could help make them Happy again!!!

I kinda wished I didn't have to go to Roo island because I really wanted to know what this thing was, but it isn't a huge deal so that's where I went to next, I did ignore a smaller land to happy-fy since I was curious. It WAS the first quest that specifically tells you to go somewhere, so maybe it's more important as the game ramps up into the later levels.

At Roo Island we are given a mini scene of Happy pointing towards the Gates leading into the main Carnival spot where the Games are.

I wonder if Roo Island is one of Happy's favorite places, I feel like it'd fit since it's such a fun place. They spoke about how it was sad that the Island was saddened.

Of course we start moving on, The little arcade was cute. It was neat to see Ice Caves listed, I don't think I've even seen one in ages.

These levels are filled with a LOT of springs

I ended up playing a bit longer then I thought I would tbh

I even forgot that me and my friend were planning on hanging out in town. Got quite the jumpscare when I heard her knock.

She brought me to a lil cafe that I hadn't tried before. At first I didn't want to go to town because it drains my energy but We had a good time.
At some point we went back home, she offered to help me unpack because I've been heavily procastinating, I refused though, kinda my job. We hung out all day on accident so she spent the night.

Apparently in the middle of the night something woke her up that freaked her out, she ended up only getting a few hours because she couldn't get back to sleep. She said it was like someone was standing over her, but it was gone quick, she couldn't really describe any features, she said it was probably nothing.
In the following days I continued on the Roo Island path while my friend did her various hacking projects, she said she was really frustrated with how difficult it's been to try and get into the "save" file, she said she might seek more things out in the other files to see if she missed anything else that would've been interesteding. I wish her a lot of luck, If I knew anything about hacking I'd help for sure. But my knowledge of hacks is the fake flashy stuff you see in movies.

We finally made it to a special character who was sussed out to be that Orange blumaroo's friend, upon trying to speak with them they used a teleporter to leave the area.

Happy asked smile about where they think the Blum went, Happy apparently gets an answer that it's probably Maraqua.

Roo Island is fun, lots of stuff happens in this level specifically, One of them was a building we couldn't enter because Happy wasn't "Fancy" enough, funnily enough the solution was to put a watch in my pocket that the blumaroo didn't even look at it, she just accepted it as fact.

And Like I said earlier, there is a ton of bouncing, it can be hard and frustrating to control sometimes though.

Roo Island has probably been my favorite land so far honestly, It was also slightly harder to complete then the other ones, not too bad, but difficult especially in the later Roo Levels.

I finished it within a few days of focusing on it. I'll miss these levels, I'm less annoyed that I Had to go there now. I guess that place I'm interested in is probably something I won't get to for a while I think...

I began to work on the Maraquan levels soon after leaving Roo Island, I wonder how Happy isn't drowning. They didn't put any protection or spell on, they can just do that. Cartoon logic I guess haha.

While I was playing on my phone next to my friend, at some point she took a glance over at my screen.

She had asked me something odd
❝Why is there weird creepy glitches happening there?❞
She seemed a bit unnerved when she asked

The thing is, I have no idea what she was talking about, we stared at my screen for a moment to see if it would happen again, occasionally she would ask if I ❝Saw that❞... but I didn't , I still don't know why, she said nevermid after that, and sat quietly on the couch.
I just wonder what it was she supposedly saw. I'm not sure what to think about this. Maybe she hasn't gotten enough sleep lately and it's stressing her brain out too much causing her to see things or something?

The Maraqua levels were pretty easy at first- a lot of the time the levels got harder, I think that's pretty standard, You got electrocuted by jellyfish if you hit them. The little bubble obstacles would sometimes 'pop' if you stood too long, especially small ones.

It's pretty cute that Smile swims here instead of floats. His natural habitat

When we finally got to the actual city, I slowly started to happy-fy everyone I came across while also asking if anyone has seen a specific Blumaroo. We were pointed to a "Cave" opening on the other side of town that was apparently a hangout spot for unruly fish.

Making our way over, there was an interesting NPC, he didn't say much, but he's the only named non-quest NPC I've seen this entire time. He was a red kougra who also appeared to be able to breathe underwater without any equipment.

Playing daily while also maintaining normal schedules is hard, sometimes It's all I can think about all day but I have other things to do.

My friend invited me to swim at a nearby lake, We went on a weekend with her Puppyblew (who's named Marble, btw, I don't know if I've said it, cute name. Sometimes I think about getting a Petpet)

I am used to hotter climates, but that also means the water tends to be hot too... So I didn't expect the water to be as cold as it was, We swam around for a long time. She's a real fast swimmer especially compared to me, I tend to just float along and hope.

She's pretty underwater

I tried to suss out if
I could play a bit during lunch but my Hands were still pretty damp.

After we swam a bit longer, she drove us home. I ended up falling asleep in the car for the like, 20 minutes it took to get home. I had a dream during the nap.

It was nothing crazy, just another dream where I was like, talking with Happy, that's actually become a bit of a theme. But that's not abnormal I think- Lots of people will dream about the games they're currently playing. Long time ago I kept having a bunch of dreams about The Last Blast when I was playing my old copy of it. I gotta dig that out of my boxes one of these days. Maybe when I finish Smile.

When we parted ways I played some more at home, I got to the cave area but of course the rambunctious fish didn't want to let me pass.

They didn't give me a quest so after some wandering around without knowing what I was doing I found a 'secret' entrance into the cave, but it was more dangerous and spikey. Luckily I had bought a Morph back in town on impulse. The Mara Eyrie form was fun, you had to shift carefully through the underwater cave.

After some trial and error we made it to the Mara blumaroo, who wasn't happy to see us at all. Instead of Running away they called their giant petpet, a Maraquan Spyder. This boss battle was actually pretty difficult, Dodging the tentacles were hard in such a small space. Sometimes the Mara blum would throw out weapons of their own. I nearly lost all my lives here
But you didn't! You are talented.

Once over, we officially completed the quest by telling them why we were trying to find them. The blumaroo helped us out of the cave system and teleported away.

Despite how tired I was from swimming, I ended up playing more through the night, I finished some side quests in Maraqua before heading back. It seemed like our next location is Faerieland, When I tried to check out the blacked-out area on the original level map it said I wasn't "Ready" to go there yet, so the next stop is Faerieland I guess.
You'll see it when you're Happy!

I started Faerieland and I'm slowly working my way through the levels. One of the goals here is to find bottled-faeries and release them again. Sometimes they give little blessings to my abilities which is pretty cool, some of the saddies/baddies are actually pretty difficult too, a lot of them deal with magic based attacks which are a bit harder to deal with then normal melee ones. Especially since it's many different types of magic.

The levels are also really pretty, a lot of nice colors and aesthetics. So far I still think I liked Roo Island's designs better though, but maybe that'll change as I get other levels done.

I've been playing a lot, usually by myself because my friend is apparently struggling with the files. She says her computer keeps acting up and crashing, but that the computer is fine? She said she is frustrated and doesn't want to buy a new one because the laptop isn't supposed to be acting up, she even brought it to town and the workshop said there wasn't any obvious signs of damage or anything. So I've been alone at home for a bit,
nothing interesting has been happening.

It was funny though, the othernight I was making dinner and got completely distracted and didn't even start the dang microwave.
We are such good friends. Sorry for messing up dinner, I didn't mean it.

At some point while going past one of the random lakes or ponds I saw something in the distant water, it didn't take us long to meet them.

They offered a quest, along with it a map.
Mittzie the Mutant Faerie: Hello, I'm the Mutant Faerie!
Mittzie the Mutant Faerie:
I have a request for you, it's very important!
Mittzie the Mutant Faerie:
My friend is trapped in a dungeon, I will give you rewards for saving them!
Mittzie the Mutant Faerie:
Follow the directions and you'll find the dungeon. Good luck

I like their design, I wonder if there really is a mutant faerie or if it's just fictional, Though I guess I'd probably have heard of them by now, but who knows. After some travel and getting some supplies we soon entered the forest.

While in the forest the 'Follow the melody' direction was a mini game where you had to use smile to 'find the direction' in a little rhythm game, it started out easy but the ones further into the forest were pretty tough, you had to get above a certain score to get it right, took a few tries because I kept restarting the section to get it perfect.
I wonder what my friend is doing, probably something more productive then trying to get a perfect score in a game. Lol

Once we made it to the Faerie Caverns, instead of trying to find treasure, we followed the directions on the map to try and find the dungeon.

We made it to this old looking entrance.

A LOT of the quests inside of the dungeon were time based, Like escaping areas ASAP. One of the prizes was a hidden faerie morph, it made fighting the random enemies within the dungeon a lot easier, Faerie magic was more powerful that way, and certain obstacles could be entirely skipped. And who doesn't love that kau design?!

In some sort of weird magic labyrinthe we came across the suspected friend, 'Nedrick'.
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: WHAT?!
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: I don't need help! I broke out of the cell on my own!
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: Sure I'm a little lost- I MEAN-
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: OK FINE! You can help but I'm not happy about it!
Despite being kind of a dork, he was actually pretty helpful, he helped defeat enemies and his petpet would boost our skill for a minimal bit of time.

We kept going through the dungeon thing fighting many types of monsters, there were 2 mini bosses and a 'main boss' we were trying to get to. The first mini boss was a skeletal earth faerie. She was pretty easy to battle.

Next was this weird floating hand. It would grab at us and punch and stuff like that, it was a bit weird to dodge- it's hit box was kind of hard to figure out sometimes.

Finally, the dungeon boss was a sad 'Cloud Monster', it attacked with different types of weather patterns, Rain, Hail, lightning, snow, stuff like that, it was a pretty cool fight, the lightning was the hardest to avoid

Luckily we didn't have to do another melody mini game to make it out of the forest.
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: Finally out of that stupid dungeon!
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: Hmph... Thanks for the help. Let's get to the lake.

The Mutant Faerie was waiting for us by the lake's edge by the time we got there.
Mittzie the Mutant Faerie: Welcome back! I see you have finished the quest.
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: I didn't need to be saved you know!
Mittzie the Mutant Faerie: Oh sure, after last time I'm just being safe.
Nedrick the Epic Warrior: Whatever!! I could've done that alone too!

With the Mutant Faerie's quest completed, we got some cool items as a prize. We recieved A Kougra Transmog, a 'Captured Wisp, Mutated heart, and A Faerie bell. Awesome! The Faerie Bell will call Nedrick to boss battles when I need it (If I need it) which is neat, would be nice to have backup since the battles can get pretty intense. Super cool!
After I finished the quest I texted my friend about it, mostly because I'd been talking about how difficult some of the mini bosses were

At some point while my friend was Over she offered to take me to a store, Fridge was a bit too empty I guess. I agreed even though I didn't really think it was a big deal, I have stuff just not a TON.
She's telling you what to do, that's bad.

We went to the actual store too, Usually I just go to the market because it's cheaper and closer. It was weird being in one, haven't in a while. Very noisy.
It's very loud in here.

I mostly wanted to grab frozen stuff and snacks, she wanted to go to the fresh aisle but honestly it's just a waste of money most of the time, cooking isn't something I enjoy that much... she said she could cook for me, she likes cooking.

You wouldn't have become sad if she hadn't forced you to go.

I think I got too overwhelmed, something stupid kind of messed my head up...

I was really quiet in the car, my friend noticed, I tried to pretend it was nothing because frankly it should've been nothing.

I feel stupid, tried to calm down in my bathroom but my head wouldn't stop going.

I'm partly glad my friend can read my emotions, I ended up letting her in and she let me cry for a while. I felt stupid, I still kind of feel stupid. Usually... usually I can ignore it. I told her about what upset me and why, it's been a long time since I've said it out loud.

She made us some dinner afterwards, she really is a good cook. It took my mind off what set me off for most of the day while we hung out.

But when she had to go I was alone most of the night. I was fine for a while until it was time to sleep. I was tired but everytime I closed my eyes I'd open them back up, thoughts racing around.

Maybe it'd help to put it out in the open, I was upset because I saw two twin shoyru's at the store... They were cute little kids, blue in color. Just like we were.

I used to have a twin, when I was little, we were best friends, we went everywhere together, but now she's gone. She's gone. She's been gone since I was 10. It haunts me to this day, it haunts me every night. I don't want to think about her, I don't want to remember asking her to wake up.
Usually I can ignore it, but I don't know, it's been a long time since I've seen a set of twins... specifically two that looked so similar.
I couldn't sleep.
If you hadn't gone it would've been fine, there's no need to focus on the things that hurt.

I felt a... weird sense of comfort and relief, fighting back tears, when my Neoph suddenly buzzed with a notification.
Happy misses you! Let's continue our adventure in happiness!
It did help, playing, it took my mind off things, I fell asleep at some point and woke up cuddling my phone... It was also almost out of battery so I had to plug it in...
Sorry things got so heavy, I know that it has nothing to do with what I'm writing about, I should be focusing on the game, not my life and my problems... I guess I just needed to get it out there. I'll try and focus on not doing that, this isn't supposed to be a diary, this is supposed to be about Smile.
it's okay, I can make you happy again. We are friends, I don't like seeing you cry, it's sad, we shouldn't be sad we should be Happy.

So while I play more, we came across a strangely colored Faerie Bottle, instead of the usual elements it was rainbow...

Luckily whoever was trapped inside the bottle spoke, saying that she needed help, the culprit was actually a different faerie. Though we still didn't get to figure out exactly why the color is rainbow, I assume we'll find out.
???: Oh Please help me, this special twine tied around keeps me in... You must find A pair of a special scissors held by the person who's trapped me
???: The culprit is another faerie! One supposed to be my friend... You'll find him hiding inside an arts and crafts den...
???: If you are able... please fix this cloud that's covering his shine- for trapping me is not his nature, something must be wrong.
Happy: Oh Dear! We'll get you out!

After that we headed through a couple other random meadows and such before making it across a small Faerieland town, it didn't have a name on the map though. Like everywhere else was right now, it was filled with sad and angry folk.

I entered a bakery with a very annoyed looking chia. She pointed us too a small spot in the nearby forest where a Faerie was said to live in an arts and crafts den, apparently he tended to bring joy to the town... but something changed! We also grabbed some cake.
Funnily enough my pal actually stopped by at some point in the day with some cake she made, it was nice.

On the path to the craft-den the entire forest area was filled with yarn and random bottled faeries, sometimes a random craft but mostly just yarn.

It was strangely empty, almost no saddies or baddies to deal with like usual. Usually there's quite a bit throughout, especially areas like this.

We quite-easily made it to the crafts den, I really like how this frame looks. I was pretty eager to continue on but I got a call from my friend, who'd just finished walking back home.
Apparently something happened and her favorite painting was ruined. So I stopped playing and headed over. She was pretty upset and thinks it was because of... something. Not sure what, it is pretty weird, if it had just fallen and broken the frame it'd make more sense, but it was covered in black ink (or paint?).
I insisted on checking around in case some weird bandit had broken in and destroyed it but... nothing seemed wrong, and for someone so paranoid she actually kept telling me she knew it wasn't a break in. She's not really telling me why. I suspect it's about the weird spooky stuff she was experiencing a while ago, but I'm not 100% sure why she won't say it.

I continued to play that night after she managed to finally fall asleep, she was having trouble. Back at the game we entered the den. It was a LOT larger inside then it looked outside, classic faerie magic. It was a circle room with a large glass ceiling that had a faerie on the other side. Behind him was a large moth but it was partially obscured by the dome and lots of decor.
Rose: Go away, I will not speak to you.
Happy: Maybe we can talk-
Rose: I literally said I won't speak to you
Happy: I know, but I'm only here to help!
Rose: I don't want your help
???: I don't think he'll listen right now... We have to get up there!
???: He uses his marble to get around with magic, the only way to get up there is through the marble tracks...
???: But it looks like he's locked the entrance to his tunnel system... We'll have to find a way through!

First I headed to the little door on the right.

We were now in another room that had another big moth in the middle and a room lined with statues. It also had a podium with a glass case that appeared to be empty, I headed right again.

We fought a lot of paper creatures in this side, they were surprisingly difficult due to being paper- they were pretty good at dodging.

The paper creations would sometimes show up in duos, but never more then that.

The last part of the hall had a weird sharp thing on the ground, of course it's not that easy because a mini-boss paper beast fell from the sky to attack.

Adorably enough after calming it down it became a lil sweetheart and let us pet them.

The broken-thing was a half of a broken gem apparently, we left the area (The giant beast even followed us out)

I placed the broken gem into the podium and heard a little chime, so I assume that's what you're supposed to do. The paper beast fell asleep by it's door.

Going left into the next area into a room with a lot of silhouettes on the walls, it also got progressively darker by the end of the frame.

For a little bit it was just calm, walking in the dark, honestly this place was kind of creepy, the sound completely stopped, no ambience or sounds, just silence. Of course I expected one of the shadows to move- and I was right.

The creature was revealed by the light of it's gem-thing in it's chest, it was one of those statues from the other room! But the game instead called them a 'Statyu'

Surprisingly enough it was the only creature I've seen thus far that you couldn't placate, I assume because it's mindless? It seemed to just be made of magic and not really an emotion, maybe just a partial guard for the faerie, I mean technically we're probably not supposed to be in here. I collected the bits of flower it left behind, it was labeled as a Rhizanthella. I know nothing about flowers, but apparently they grow underground, very rare. Kind neat. Now I can prove that video games taught me something.

In one of the next hallways Smile alerted to something, he picked it up and revealed a mix of what seems to be a Pebble and a gem with a little flower inside. Smile named it Grin. Cuuute

The second half of the gem we needed was hiding behind this funny looking lamp bird thing. First thing I noticed is that the gem half is a much bigger half than the original piece. That is not even.

The fight was a bit strange, for a while I didn't know what to do, it would capture us in it's light and 'teleport' us back to the other side of the room. I ended up trying a lot of random stuff in the inventory- but the flower bits were the correct ones. It took the bits of flower and turned up onto the ceiling.

The room lit back up, I guess it must've been using the rooms power to search for food, because it was now feeding the flower bits to feed 2 little ones.

With that, we placed the half ontop of the other one, the chime happened again. So that must be this side of the den completed. I unfortunately needed rest so I stopped playing for the night.

The next morning I played a bit before breakfast, the other room had a pedastel where there were 3 empty slots that obviously needed filled, they were moon shaped, 2 crescents and 1 whole. I did quickly start the other too rooms... But I didn't notice that my recording had completely corrupted until way later.

I've never had recording corrupt this badly before. So I'll try and just explain the rooms.
The 'left' room was abstract in the way that it worked, I was able to run around on (or in?) the walls if they had certain colored boxes, things were very floaty and nonsensical, Every room features the same red swirl leading to pieces of the moon slots, but would be blocked by certain floating boxes on the walls. I had to try and find a room that had a way to use the red swirly path, meaning it couldn't be obscured by the painted items on the wall. It took a bit, the hall was seemingly endless and randomized. The enemies I had to defeat in these rooms were just weird shapes that vaguely looked like real creatures. Once I got the item I headed to the door on the right.
The right area was seemingly some sort of paper mache play. Each Hall had curtains and dramatic creatures reading a script. I had to try and guess the script that would lead me to 'win' the moon pieces as a trophy. Each hallway portion was a different script- and a different plot, so it was kind of difficult. If I messed up guessing the script I'd have to fight a 'director' which was kind of funny. It was less difficult to the abstract rooms though I think.

Once I had the moon slots we heard a similar ding to finishing the other moth room. I was going to immediately start heading back but ended up stopping my game.

I had a sudden mild migraine, weird because usually I can guess when they're about to happen and went to lay down in one of my friend's guest rooms, I didn't get the chance to eat breakfast.

When I felt better I had some food and went home, I was still feeling pretty tired from the aftermath of my migraine so I didn't do much for a little bit, I laid on my couch and played some more on a lower brightness. I made it to the main room where the Marble-entrance opened.

The marble entrance was just a round tunnel leading up to the area we needed to get to.

Slowly climbing our way up...

When we got up there the Faerie was very annoyed with us, and thus we started a battle. The first phase was mostly dodging needles and various craft supplies.

The second bit was various craft-monsters coming in to protect the faerie as he rested his magic up. Anything from paper monsters, those Statue things and clay monsters.

The final phase was a mix of him resting and having things attack us, and smaller-craft monsters on the ceiling being used as distractions and defensive shields. Little paper airplanes would fly at Happy and attempt to hit him.

When the fight concluded the craft faerie apologized for his behavior.
Rose: ...I feel a lot better now. I'm sorry for being so mean... Thank you.
Rose:I will release the faerie's I trapped, but first I need to release my best friend

So we finally released the mysterious Faerie!

We were introduced to Mimi, the petpet puddle faerie.
I'm pretty excited to try the new items out, especially the petpet paint mixing vial. We also got a proper introduction to Rose the arts and crafts faerie. I love these two, I wasn't expecting Mimi to be so small when it zoomed out.
Mimi: Thank you so much for helping me and my friend!!
Mimi: I'm Mimi! The petpet puddle Faerie!
Mimi: For your help, I will give you a special item!
Rose: I'd like to give you something too... and uhm... my name is Rose
With that, we continued after leaving, with Rose and Mimi promising to release the Faerie's themselves... surprisingly, this seemed to be the final boss of Faerieland, I was honestly expecting to go more into the city but perhaps the curse hadn't completely overtaken Faerieland yet. On the map, it Looks like our next stop is the Haunted woods.

After buying some items and getting prepared I finally made it to the haunted woods officially, I had stocked up on some items I needed.

We started in the middle of a pathway, inside of a clearing where there weren't many trees in this area.

Badly hammered to a random gravestone on the side of the road was a 'Help Wanted' piece of paper. Looks like I need to find some sort of graveyard. Whoever wrote this didn't put a lot of real details on it.

Luckily not to long ahead is a sign pointing us right to the graveyard, which I'll assume is the one we need to get to/

The 'Afterthought' graveyard has a very fancy gate.
I got a message from my friend who said she woke up from a nap after a nightmare. She told me her phone woke her up, and apparently she'll have to visit her family soon due to some personal stuff, and will not be home. I'll miss her for sure but she said we can video chat and all that while she's there, she isn't leaving yet though, just in a few weeks.
I'll keep you company.

Inside of the graveyard area there was a hill further by, there was of course, a shed-home ontop of said hill.

I knocked on the door and Smile hid behind Happy, apparently he's scared of graveyards

A creepy shadow slowly approached the door and we were greeted by an older zombie vandagyre. At this point the music became slowed and distorted, It matched with his slow way of speaking in the next post.

I actually sped up these a bit so it didn't feel as torturous as it was in real time. I liked it though but I can say it was a bit frustrating at times.
???: What's This?
???: Has the Postman sent me a gift?
???: Oh, my P-paper has been answered by a-a-a ray of Ssshine
???: My Troupe has broken up, I want us back together
???: We are peas in a pond... p-p-pot... P-pon...d...
...
???: Shall we speak over Tea inside?

His shed home doesn't look too good
???: Welcome, Make yourselves comfortable.

What's seeping out of the fridge back there??
???: And be careful, the Hob is still quite Hot.

???: Where were we Sunshine

He seems to be very forgetful or distracted during his speaking. During this ordeal of slowly reading his text my friend messaged me and said that
Marble had somehow gotten to one of his treat bones all by himself. She has no idea how lol.
???: Right... My troupe. They all started to fight, They ran away
???: I could not calm their Angry Skulls
???: Would you help me? I m-might know where they Frequent.
...
???: Would you like a scone
???: Here we Are...
???: Now l-little birdie shan't have a scone

I also realized he misses a lot of punctuation in his text, also I think 'Birdie' is referring to Smile, He's not all there I guess.
???: Well... Maybe just a Nibble.
I don't think any of us had a single bite of those burnt scones or the... weirdly colored Tea. And he didn't even seem to notice that nothing was being eaten or drank.

Finally he circled around to his troupe (again) and gave me something useful, A list of places and pictures of his troupe, he didn't give any real directions or even their names though.
???: Right My troupe... Here I wrote it all down f-for Yuu.

He didn't even try to offer any of those to me, but I don't think he would've anyways, I guess the pictures are good enough. He DID give us his name though.
???: You will be gifted Heavenly Well
???: Ooooooh... How Ru-rude of meeee
???: I Never Offered my name to the 3 of yooou
Edgar: My name is Edgar
Edgar: But call me Edgar, My silly friends... Thank you, Good luck.

It even seemed like Happy was a little bit unnerved, just for a moment though.

So naturally we head into the 'Don't go in there woods'.

I like the weird crooked trees going on here, And the weird plant life. At first the little enemies we came across were angry lil petpets which is fairly common.

Sometimes I had to jump ontop of stumps or gravestones, very very rarely I could see movement in the background of the woods, but It happened so rarely that I wasn't able to capture it... I didn't really wanna stand idle for much longer.

Soon the enemies had become mostly ghosts, This one was my favorite of the designs. I think this ghost has snake hair?

We came up to the 'Crawler's Cave' Which is obviously what Edgar had drawn. Let's ignore that badly made barricade and go inside.

Immediately upon entering it got very dark VERY fast, luckily, there was a smashed morphing potion on the ground, that still had some liquid of a fire potion available.

Finally an excuse to use the new Vial I got from Mimi.

And in a flash, Smile turned into a fire Frowny!

Which allowed more light to lead the way, it was still kind of dark, but at least it was bright enough.

Quickly I noticed the cloud of darkness lingering on the walls, I wasn't sure what it was until the next area.

I realized that it was a strand of, most likely, long-legged spyders. (Note; they're not actually spyders). But they like to nest in big clumps that look like hair. There's also more other types of spyder's in this cave, So I guess it's right that this is a cave of crawler's.

On the ground there was two pieces of paper with a back and forth argument, I wonder why they are in here. Did the two get lost? How would Edgar kow they'd get lost in here?

We got attacked by a weird Spyder like rock monster at once point.

Deeper in, the cave randomly turned a completely different color. We were about to be attacked by a Big Long-legged Spyder but it seemed to really like Smile. Maybe it likes the current glow? It decided to just follow us around.

We made it into a lit room of the cave... It looks the the two fighting Hissi's actually LIVE inside of this cave for some reason. The orange one spoke and asked who we were... During this, My friend stopped by to hang out. While we hung out she showed me some
creepy pictures she got while in her room.

She ended up staying the night, we had already planned on a movie night but the pictures had scared her a bit and so we bumped it up, which I was fine with! We watched a few movies, a mix of horror and comedy sprinkled in.

The last one we watched was a movie I love a lot, but by then I was feeling weirdly antsy... but it wasn't a big deal.

So

antsy

When I went upstairs to bed, I was really tired.

But I ended up playing a bit more and actually talked to the hissi's.
Happy: I'm Happy! I'm here to help you!
Happy: Were you two fighting?
Durple: Oh we were. But it's HER fault, She stole my favorite charm!
Biorange: NO I didn't! But YOU took my Crystal ball! I literally SAW it!
Durple: Liar Liar Liar, you LOST it!!!!!!!
Happy: Where'd these go missing?
Durple: Deeper in the cave system!
Biorange: Deeper in the cave system!
Happy: Why were you down there?
Durple: Gathering some crystals and
Biorange: some extra scrying waters
Happy: How about I try to find them!
Durple: Whatever, knock yourself out.
After that we continued down the path, the Spyder followed us the whole time. Most of the cave walk was fighting various creatures, usually Spyder based. I admit I didn't get too far because I fell asleep holding my phone.
Weird thing though, Apparently
I had a sleep walking incident? I don't think I've ever sleep walked in my entire life... or maybe I just didn't know? Nothing really happened apparently, my friend had to lead me back to bed.

The next day I made my way through the cave system

I wonder if caves in the haunted woods are really this lively, what the heck is swimming around in a cave pond.

I noticed in the next frame that the long-legged spyder didn't follow us into this area... Quickly it was obvious why

Some sort of messed up spyder creature person was dangling by the cave ceiling.

The fight was fairly easy, I was expecting this to be the boss that gave us the items the hissi's were missing, but nothing dropped when it skittered off. Then something threw itself quickly out of the water.

A pretty big hissi creature was the culprit, with the items in one of it's arms.

Most of the fight was trying to calm it down, the commotion must've alerted the hissi's because they soon showed up, instantly stopping the hissi when it noticed them come over.
Durple: We didn't know you were awake!!
Biorange: What have we said about taking our stuff?!

I wonder if they really saw eachother 'taking' the items or if they were really just lying because of the curse or something. They got an excited hug from the big hissi and we headed back to their main area, big hissi following closely.

They quickly apologized to eachother while the large hissi nuzzled it's face in their little blanket nest.

Durple: Sorry about that... That's our baby sister
Biorange: Usually she's asleep... we didn't even think about it
Durple: I'm uh... Durple
Biorange: I'm Biorange
Durple: Our sister is Baby_Serpent4912

After some extra idle chat implying they were going to soon head back to 'work', they gave us a fortune/psychic reading of some type. I accepted said reading
Durple: Thank you for helping... for the hassle
Biorange: We can give you a free reading before you go.

Biorange: Your future seems to hold hope
Durple: Of a mission you shall complete
Durple: Outside factors will soon have nothing in this race.
Durple: But a few extra loose strings are left to pull.
Biorange: Yuu will cover the gloom with a veil of love. THe sun is shining bright.
Durple: Trust the process.
Biorange: Trust the process.
After the reading we headed back up to the forest to continue the mission...

Soon we made it to the road leading into town to look for that toy shop

For a bit there was absolutely no one in town that we could see.

I finally came across a uni with no wings who didn't say a dang thing. But Happy seemed to get something out of the silence.

The Toyshoppe seemed to be closed, to the sadness of a ruki child standing nearby and looking in. I wonder how long it's been closed, we'll fix it.

Yea this place is creepy. I watched a movie once as a kid where a toy shop became evil at night and it made me scared of shops at night for a while growing up. But later when I watched it as an adult it was absolutely hilarious and terrible.
I do have some interesting news, my friend seems to have
found a page all about the game Smile in an old archive, before it was actually a game at all. Though she can't seem to figure out anyway to contact the creator, but still.

Some of the links were completely broken or just not saved in the archive, a lot of it also had broken images or blank areas that were probably SUPPOSED to have something in them but they didn't.

One of the earlier pages contained old concept art for Happy, where he was a grey poogle named Sunshine. I wonder when that changed, and why they got rid of the sunshine name. Smile, the frowny, used to be a Smiley as well. I guess they must've been flipped around a few times in designs lol. Super cool, I am enjoying looking at the page when there's one that's actually a working link.
My friend still seems nervous... I guess that makes sense, it is kind of weird. At first I didn't think that the old creator not being contactable wasn't weird... But now that I'm typing this out I'm thinking about it.
It's an old style website too, but if the original creator uploaded it to Poogle play after turning it into a mobile game, why couldn't I find them? That seems like it'd be pretty public and easy to find? Any sign that it was actually a real game? That part has me scratching my head, because if it has a real explanation and it is just a normal game... Why. Why... why can't I look it up and find it anywhere... Why was it in my Wishlist? Who was reviewing it even though I can't even find it anywhere else but my phone? I uh. I feel weird all of a sudden writing this. Why do I feel weird. Why do I feel so weird. Why do I feel so weird. I. Weird. That's the update for tonight.
No. no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no I'M NOT SUNSHINE I'VE NEVER BEEN SUNSHINE I'M NOT SUNSHINE STOP LOOKING STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP

After a small break from playing I went back to it, the Toyshop is fun; mostly battling random toys or being jumpscared by the eeriness of it. Do HW's shops in real life have jumpscares in their stores?

We found the person we were looking for, but she doesn't want to talk to me because I'm not royalty, so she called the 'guards' which... I think... they were. Something, puppets? I can't remember, I didn't screeeeen shot it i was.
too busy.
I guess she wants us to play pretend, so we'll have to locate some 'royal' toy clothes or something? Or a royal morph?

I took a break for a bit.

Mostly to do some stuff online; I've been tired again and my migraines are bad.

funnily enough, that all seems to melt away when I play my game. I always perk right up. It's a nice distraction.

I had to fight a weird big shadow monster that was hoarding a bunch of stuff

One of the items we got from it was a royalgirl kyrii morph, Happy said it made him look pretty! The monster toys and stuff didn't attack them while wearing it.

Of course though, instead of fixing the situation, the queen just got angry seeing another royal in her domain.
Royal Narrator: Oh no! The presence of another princess makes her jealous!!! You will not take over the thrown!!!
One thing I noticed was the 'thrown' mispell, it reminds me of kids. I wonder if the toy doll is a child or something, maybe we'll figure that out?

She transported us into some sort of game... a video game within a game kind of.

It was basically a 'find a way out and get the queen to realize you aren't trying to dethrone her'. We decided to ask the cell neighbor to help us escape.

Our cell neighbor pointed out the guard as well, unsure of how we could escape if they noticed.
Happy: Can you help me?
Happy: Move the brick.
Happy: Thank Yuu
Happy: Can you help me break the wall? I can help you too.
Happy: Hmmm... I think my friend Smile can help

Smile flew over to get the guards attention

Smile sang some sort of lullaby that knocked the sucker out... Does Smile always have that ability or is the royalty making him have like. Princess powers?

The stranger let us into their side and we broke down one of the loose bars inside of their cell, quickly leaving the dungeon. We don't really learn anything about the stranger this entire time also, I hope they weren't some axe wielding lunatic we just let out. They don't really do much beside stand in places we tell them too, which was good for some of the puzzles ahead..
Happy: Smile didn't see any keys... But I think One of your bars is loose-
Happy: We can work together to break it!

The next set of levels were making our way through to get to the throne room. It was fun, it was filled with mazes and guards we had to cheer up. But imagine how awful the castle would look in real life if they really built it like that.

In the throne room we were prompted to get rid of the magic barrier between her and us. It was pretty easy, though the guards in this area were a bit more powerful.

The screen to battle was similar to a game I played as a kid, Cute! The Queen's name is apparently 'Penny' which I think fits well.

When we won we got a little win screen and it faded back to normal life.

Penny's... narrator. Apologized (kind of) before leaving the area. She vanished with her evil shadow ghost magic or whatever. I wonder if she IS a ghost or something else? I feel we may never know...
Royal Narrator: The QUEEN has forgiven you for your intrusion. She agrees she was being a little dramatic.
Royal Narrator: Oh? Edgar is looking for the crew? Well... She does miss entertaining... She thanks you for stopping by!
Also, is her role at the circus to put people in hallucination type trances with mazes and puzzles? Or is that just something she can do for fun. That'd be pretty funny tbh.

At some point I must've fallen asleep.

Unfortunately, for every single joint in my body, I had fallen asleep at my desk.

(Hopefully) Before any semi-permenant damage was done,
My friend had come in to wake me up, we were supposed to go for a hike, and I had completely forgotten.

I haven't hiked in a long time, it's actually something I used to do a lot more. I guess I've just gotten lazier as I've grown.

It was a beautiful day outside

It wasn't too hot and wasn't too cold, which is honestly preferred. I grew up in a hot climate, think I've mentioned it before, but I'm not actually huge on it. I'm excited most for autumn though... My favorite season. My friend says during autumn she likes to bake pies and stuff for a local town fair, it'd be kinda neat to go together. I'm also not huge on pie but... I'll try it anyways.

normal forests are way nicer than sporadic patches of humid jungles or swamps.

We walked for a while, Marble was having the time of his life.
Where are you?

At one point we saw a family of Wild Doglefox across a river, she had two lil cubs with her, I kind of expect Marble to yap at them but he was pretty quiet.

While taking a small rest I noticed something

My Neoph wasn't in any of my pockets, kind of weird, wanted to check the time and stuff

Friend mentioned that I probably left it in her car or at home

When I got home I still couldn't find it anywhere, she tried to help but neither of us could find the thing, I'm scared it might've dropped outside during the hike and I just didn't notice.

At some point she had to leave, she was supposed to drive to one of her pals to drop Marble off, apparently she's unable to bring him to her family. For a moment I think I might've been a bit upset that she didn't ask me to watch him, but at the same time Marble is pretty high energy, I don't think I would've been the best petsitter lol. I'm too easily distracted and lazy. As for my Neoph... no where so far.

It's been a while, For a bit things were fine but I was getting tired of not having my phone, I almost bought a new one because it had just simply vanished, My ❝friend❞ stayed with me for a lot of it, keeping me distracted.

I kept sleep walking for a while, My ❝friend❞ kept having
bad dreams.

But the other night I had a dream, it was about Happy... He was telling me to find him.

It gave me more motivation to keep looking again; I had half given up on it a bit ago.

And I did it. I finally found my phone! I'm pretty Happy about it... however, to be honest,
me and my friend are- well, no longer friends. I don't want to talk about it. She left town today for visiting her family, so I won't be seeing her again soon anyway, but I won't lie I'm a little down about it. But, expect more game stuff soon.

I practically waited in place while my neoph charged. I'm trying to keep my mind off things.

I missed you

We missed you

We get back on track with the game, this time we're heading to a small campsite where the purple dude in Edgar's note supposedly is.

The camp was located on the otherside of a lake, it's called 'Horrid Lake Camp' which sounds amazing. I wonder how terrifying it would be to go to a campground in the haunted woods if you're not from HW.

Happy immediately disregards the signs that tell you to get out of here ASAP, he's braver than I am that's for sure.
Don't say that! You're very brave!

Somehow he finds this abandoned camp cute, I guess to be fair he seems to love just about everything.

The camp seems to be filled with some sort of toxic gas, I don't know if it's safe at all to walk in there.

P.S Later I poogled that camp, apparently it's a real one interestingly. It's also
shut down for the same reason, wonder if the creator went there? Also whoever wrote this article did a terrible job.

I laughed so hard seeing this face plant, he passed out as soon as he stepped foot into the green air. So it's 100% toxic.

Somehow he woke up outside of the misty camp, Did Smile lift him??? How.
Happy: Woah! That felt really bad!
Happy: Don't worry... I'll be OK... But how will I go in?!
Smile: ...
Happy: Are you sure? Ok... but - please be careful!
Happy: Smile Wants to explore, seems like the fumes didn't hurt him... Lead him safely!

So now we take control of Smile to explore the camp.

Smile, unlike Happy, cannot turn the saddies or anything, so we have to dodge attacks from any enemy that comes by.

I briefly took a break, not a long one.

To be continued...
